Do you have 'proper' premises? We trade from an industrial unit in the heart of the west midlands manufacturing base, we actually manufacture our spiral and straight staircases here from start to finish. Do you really make your own castings? Yes we make all our own castings, we do not source our castings from overseas suppliers in the Far east or Eastern block countries. Why is this important? There are a number of reasons, firstly environmental issues, as a UK based manufacturer all our emmissions are monitored and regulated so you can be sure that we are not polluting the environment. Secondly we believe it is important to support manufacturing in this Country, it is our heritage and once it's gone it will never return. Why should I choose aluminium? Aluminium is lightweight but structurally very very strong and is the ideal material for your staircase. Aluminium is widely used in everyday life and chances are it is already being used by you. It is present in household appliances such as kettles and saucepans, door handles, conservatories, greenhouses, lamposts, street furniture, window frames, stud partition walls, step ladders, loft ladders, garden furniture, trains, propellers, aeroplanes, car engines, car wheels and some car bodies are made entirely from aluminium.Aluminium does not rust and can be used to create intricate patterns and shapes and gives a superb surface finsh which can then be painted easily to give an impressive finish. Is it true building regs don't allow aluminium staircases? NO, this is something you may hear from our competitors who produce cast iron staircases. If it were true how would we be in business? Who would be buying our staircases? If you are unsure just contact your local building authority and ask them the question. Can I visit? We welcome visitors to our factory, we have a showroom so you can see our products and if you wish you can see our manufacturing facility, all we ask is that you arrange your visit with us in advance. Why do you sell modern staircases when you claim to specialise in Victorian style staircases? We realise that not everyone wants a victorian style staircase and therefore we need to offer a more modern staircase range. Why do you only sell the arke range of modern staircases? We researched the market for 'modern' style staircases and identified arke as the Company best suited to complement our own high standards for quality, reliability and after sales service. Why can't I buy online? We are astonished that anyone could even consider buying a staircase on a 'click here' basis, staircases aren't complicated but you do need to get it right. This can only be achieved by talking through your needs with an experienced salesperson. Do you offer site visits? There really is no need for a site visit, all we basically need to know is what size of staircase you want and the height from floor to floor,if you are really unsure you can visit us to see the staircases or you can send us a photo or sketch.
